You may have seen my sarcastic twitter persona @CoKaneFriendly, now meet the other side: A Rumi quoting, spring sappling hugging, paintbrush pushing life enthusiast.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Matt and I went to a thrift store while in Vegas and I bought a few men’s shirts to alter (I like to get a medium or large so there’s more room for error, and also so there’s more fabric left over for other projects)
I fit the bodice to my waist and cut the shoulders at the seam (the shirt was so big that the sleeve seam started past the slope of my shoulders, giving me a perfect place to transform it into the cap sleeve)
I then used a bright embroidery floss to gather the neckline in opposite diagonal directions to expose just a little clavicle, and to gather the sleeves to get rid of any belling. I opted to use the same bright yellow floss on the sleeves to show the exposed neckline gathering wasn’t a mistake, but obviously part of the design.
I need to learn to start taking before pictures.

You know in what way I love you
In what way I would become you
Fight your battles
Be your strength
Remind you of the love you are and emanate
I’ll hold you from the outside
‘Til you let me slowly in
And then I’ll support you from the inside
And be your skeleton
You’ll let me be your candle
For the messages you cannot read
And I’ll be your oxygen
When you cannot seem to breathe
You know in what way I love you
You know because it’s true
You know because you feel it
Because the same love’s inside of you
I know in what way you love me
Because I’ve dawned new eyes
Ones that see that I am you
And
You are I
There are no sides.
Thank you mom for the Pastel pencils. Now I’m addicted to drawing my beautiful friends.
Reach.
Starting each morning with six sketches of a certain subject. I’m hoping it will push me to develop my stylized techniques. I would put a time limit on it, but that criteria could take me somewhere completely different. Not to mention, I’m trying to distance myself from the idea of “time”.
I’ve come down with creation-itis. I feel this borderline manic drive to use my imagination & talents in any way possible, at all times possible.
Can’t say I’m not grateful my skills finally have aspirations behind them. I’ve been waiting so long for this day. I don’t think most people just sit around and have that day find their way to them, so I’m feeding it well and petting it softly in hopes it will stick around and warm my feet at night.
